Balliol College Chapel, Oxford, UK.
Balliol College is one of the oldest colleges of the University of Oxford in England. It was founded around 1263 by John I de Balliol, a rich landowner from Barnard Castle in County Durham. Among the college alumni are several Prime Ministers, a number of Nobel laureates and numerous well known literary and philosophical figures.
The College was male only until 1979 when the first female students were admitted.
The present College Chapel is the third chapel to be built on this site, it was designed by William Butterfield and constructed in 1857.
